Applications for 3rd BioSense Accelerator for AgTech Startups are OPEN

After two very successful editions of the BioSens accelerator, BioSense Institute continues to support innovative entrepreneurs in the development of ideas that will contribute to the digital transformation of agriculture.

After two very successful editions of the BioSens accelerator, BioSense Institute continues to support innovative entrepreneurs in the development of ideas that will contribute to the digital transformation of agriculture. BioSense accelerator is the first in the region exclusively aimed at domestic technologically innovative companies, which link their further development to the agriculture and food sector. This year, the program is implemented with the support of the Serbia Innovates project.

Through education, intensive training, personal mentoring, a network of contacts, and access to BioSense research resources, the BioSense Accelerator will provide domestic IT entrepreneurs with the opportunity to contribute to the digitization of agriculture through the development of new solutions, as well as the improvement of existing ones.

The program will gather over 20 international and domestic mentors, who will use their expertise, experience, contacts and ideas to help selected entrepreneurs in testing the feasibility and sustainability of their business idea and digital solutions, and turning their ideas and products into a sustainable business venture.

The program will be implemented during a three-month course in the spring of 2023, from March to June, and is intended for startups that:

  • Focus on the development and implementation of innovations and IT solutions for the agriculture and food sector;
  • Solve a real problem on the market by working on improving existing solutions or digitizing previously analog solutions.

Up to ten startups will be selected to participate in the program. The program will be carried out through two weekly workshops (live and online) held by experienced experts. Thematic discussions, meetings and other events will also play a major role in the program. In addition to mentoring support, the teams will have scientific support from the BioSense Institute in knowledge transfer, access to needed data sets, scientific research equipment, and/or test farms – resources that selected teams may need for the development or improvement of their products.

The best teams will have the opportunity to participate in a large regional final event (Demo Day), where they will present their idea to an international audience and an international network of investors.

Applications for the third generation BioSens accelerator are open until February 1, 2023. A pitch deck of 10 slides and a completed application are required to apply. Detailed information about the BioSense acceleration program and the application process can be found on the official website – http://accelerator.biosense.rs/.

The BioSens team will also support potential applicants during the accelerator application preparation process.
